By Annabelle Holman

Business nowadays, has changed the way and life of many companies. But most of the companies still trust and put their hands on the phone to communicate with clients. A phone system can really help improve and increase the productivity and communication in your office. Provide your business with this than having many single lined phones. This is not the same to the one we usually use.

Each may differ from one another when it comes to the type, its size and features as well as the provider. But they also do have common characteristics. That characteristics will give you a better understanding the one you currently have. Identify the kinds of office phone systems before you understand how it works.

The multiline and the private branch exchange systems are two of the basic types. These two are closely the same in function, but they differ in the degree of complexity. A multiline is the simplest of all. It can have a maximum of eight to ten approximately, in a single line. An extension will display lines from one to ten.

The private branch exchange which is also called the PBX system. Bigger establishments use this type of automatic phone systems. This will allow you to have an option to add an automation and lines that makes the central receptionist pointless.

A multiline works in various approaches that will depend on the options given. Each line for a basic one will be given other numbers. As it receives a call, the light on the phone will blink and it will ring. In times when the it is busy and is used by someone, the caller will directly receive a voicemail. Transferring calls, voicemail and speaker are a few of their incredible features.

A PBX system works pretty the same major tasks as multiline do, but without any assistance from humans. An incoming call will enter over a buffer, an electronic, central receiving area. One or two actions may be done, depending on how many caller dials.

If you will dial the central number they will allow you to listen to an automated list of extension numbers and allow you to choose which number you want to be connected. But you can skip that, if you want to immediately connect to an extension by directly dialing the extension number.

This one will provide you let you connect internally. Even without using a line outside, you can use this to connect to other extensions. Just press the last three digits of the number. Mostly, this type will need you to add a number before you place a call, in order for you to connect to an outside line.

Any company, it may be huge or a small starting one. But it will not be a factor for you to decide whether to have one. Remember that communication can make a difference, it creates ties, stronger ties between you and your customers now and in the future.
