A Brief Look At The Harrison Hot Springs Community

Devastation of former natural bucolic environments has been as a result of rapid growth of urbanization. The Harrison Hot Springs Community has been able to stand this challenge and it is capable of offering a rustic touch that is free from overcrowding and a beautiful panorama that is all natural. Here, we take a brief tour through the life of this town.

This small community has been in existence acting as a resort village for a time period beginning about 1886. The hoteliers exploited this place and it was incorporated on the year 1949. The hot springs, which are also its namesake, acts as the main tourist attraction drawing people to relish themselves in the village spa resort. A series of hot springs characterizes the village and the content of sulfur goes on decreasing as you move northwards.

On the great fresh water Harrison Lake, it has been found out by geologists of the existence of an unstable rock which is above northern ends. The geologists have forecast the rock the collapse into the water body generating a mighty wave that is likely to cause massive devastation on the Harrison town situated at south end. When this will occur remains unknown but definitely not in anticipated future and there might be chances of rectification by geological activities in the long run.

The population at this village has been growing steadily over the recent couple of years. The major economic activity is tourism which results from the springs. More than half the working population find employment in the service industries with the rest being divided in government, manufacturing, retail and construction in addition to minor activities in other fields. Apart from the natural hot water jets, there are no manufacturing industries on the lake.

The corporation of this community got incorporated as a municipality in 1949 through the initiative of Andy Naismith. The community is presided by a mayor and other four councilors. It is also part of the provincial electoral district of Chilliwak-Hope. At the federal level, it gets its representation by the House of Commons of Canada.

Its closeness in proximity to Vancouver and Seattle enables Harrison Community to be the most ideal retreat throughout the year. There are numerous myriads at disposal and they vary from rock climbing, boating and fishing, exploration and skiing in this part of the rural countryside. Other than that, some few places boast of about four golf courses located only about fifteen minutes drive.

The resorts have very fine rooms with good beds and the hot pools make them even more fantastic. The staffs are very professional coupled with friendliness and willingness to help you around. The food is very delicious and though the meal price is quite high it is really worth. The gardens and landscaping that surrounds the lake are very nice. The springs and the numerous pools are very clean and relaxing and have facilities for changing on the public beach.

Make sure you have an escape to this traditional setting for a vacation and you will definitely find calm, relaxing and yet an exciting holiday. You can tag along with some of your friends so as to enhance fun through camping, skiing and exploration among other exhilarating activities.
