Signage in this area may also be used for directional purposes. They are great for informing the public about the locations of the different offices and departments within the building. They are also ideal for helping potential and existing customers find the products and services that they may need.

Sometimes the information is pertaining to safety issues. If, for instance, the floor is slippery as it has just been wiped or cleaned, then an appropriate caution sign is necessary. The same is true for elevators that are malfunctioning or are down for repairs. It is very helpful when a person can get this information upon entering the lobby.

It is common for companies to use the services of signage experts to design and install these signs. These experts are able to design and install the signage professionally. They are also often engaged for the maintenance tasks. It is extremely important for expert knowledge and experience to be applied especially in the case of the more modern display screens for motion or digital advertisements.

Many companies have however, found a more economical means of getting this done. Instead of engaging the services of others, they try to identify and use the employees who are skilled and trained in these areas. Some management teams go as far as to ensure that during recruitment, they look specifically for potential employees who already possess the skills and experience required for these jobs. Others ensure that members of the associated departments such as marketing and maintenance are allowed opportunities for training in the area of sign creation and installation.
