Virtual Reality & Focusing On Facebook With Long Island SEO

This past March, Facebook made the decision to purchase Oculus, the company behind the virtual reality helmet known as the Oculus Rift. When this news was first made public, I believed it to be a tremendous endeavor, given Facebook's name value. However, we didn't know much about the acquisition itself or why it was done in the first place. There are many details to consider, though, and those who are involved in Long Island SEO may agree.

Business Insider put forth a piece that talked about the acquisition of Oculus, done by Facebook. Specifically, it detailed the reasons why this was done in the first place, the most prominent being the fact that computing platforms have changed so much over the course of time. According to Facebook VP of content and partnerships Dan Rose, these platforms could shift to become closer to our own bodies. Suffice it to say, this is where the Oculus Rift would come into effect.

The story of the Oculus Rift is an interesting one, if you have spent the time reviewing its roots. It started as a Kickstarter project that wound up generating close to $2.5 million from funding by backers. Given the fact that the initial goal was $250,000, this isn't exactly what one would consider to be a small feat. Since that time, we have seen instances of the Oculus Rift being tested out, the results of which were tremendous. To me, this shows that there was more than enough interest in the project at the onset.

I believe this to be a tremendous development, especially after knowing about how the Oculus Rift would once be relegated to video games. Those who specialize in Long Island SEO and general marketing services will say the same. Oculus has expanded to cover other fields of technology, which is tremendous to say the least.

One has to wonder what will happen once the Oculus Rift is able to truly make its round. Not only is it going to serve as another gateway in gaming but it seems like communication is going to be a point of interest as well. The latter may be done at the hands of Facebook, which is understandable given the strides it has made in functionality as well. While it's impossible to see how this venture will go, I am sure that most will be interested to see its journey.
