The Pros & Cons Of Chatbots, With Long Island Advertising Agencies

By Rob Sutter

Chatbots, for those not in the know, are computerized systems designed to communicate with users. These are especially common on websites that offer services, which include social media and ecommerce platforms. With that said, if you want to discuss chatbots at length, it's important to take the good with the bad. Here are just a few of their pros & cons that Long Island advertising agencies will be able to discuss.

PRO - They are quick to answer you. Chatbots are known for many qualities, but their response time may be the most obvious. Companies such as fishbat can tell you that they can respond to a number of questions related to products and services alike. Users are then granted responses that inform them as best as possible. This sense of immediacy cannot be ignored, not only by potential customers but Long Island advertising agencies as well.

CON - Their languages may be strange to some. Seeing as how chatbots are computer programs, it's safe to assume that they have stringent language. The problem with this is that they might speak in ways that are seen as strange to some. Depending on how unique the language of a chatbot is, the user experience may not be everything that it should. This is one of the concerns that should be noted.

PRO - They are simple by design. In the digital age we live in today, simplicity is often sought after, whether in terms of web design or some other service entirely. This idea of simplicity applies to chatbots as well, seeing as how they're mostly built around text. While there might be a few additional features thrown into the mix, text is emphasized above all else. What this does is create an easier experience for every user, regardless of how tech-savvy they are.

CON - They don't stack up to real human interaction. When you're speaking to a sales representative or customer service worker over the phone, it provides you with a sense of comfort. You know that your needs are being attended to, which is nothing short of welcoming. With that said, real human interaction tends to be lost when it comes to chatbots. You don't feel as though you're speaking to a real person. Chatbots have developed in recent years, but still struggle to stack up in this respect.
